The Gesamtschule Hardt is working on an European project that includes Spain, France, Poland and Germany. Every school is thinking about redesigning a place or a building in their own city. All students of the different countries have already been to Spain and France to see how they are handling their own projects.

The German students are trying to realize the idea of a British pub in the Joint Headquarters, where the British army used to be, to keep the British influence in Moenchengladbach and to find an idea for the reuse of the unused area. It is meant to be built near the Hardter Landstrasse, so it can easily be seen and reached. There are already many plans for the JHQ, for example the music festival or a multiused place like “CHIRON ALL GLOBE”, but a British pub would suit in all the plans that have been made.

Apart from British food and drinks, the German concept also provides a garden area with open air music, British movies and sport fields, to create an Anglophile atmosphere. The students have already talked about their projects at political meetings and some investors with different plans suggest to combine the pub with their ideas, so the students hope that the pub can be realized someday.
